Adult Education projects

The Foundation of Active Nonviolence is currently participating in two Adult Educations projects:

  1. WOMAN – Working on Adult Nonviolence (September 2019-October 2022)
  2. Changing the Game: developing a Culture of Peace in organisations (December 2019-November 2022)

WOMAN

The main objective of this project, funded by the Erasmus + program and approved in 2019, is to exchange best practices to counteract gender violence and abuse among adult women.

We will exchange specific tools to contribute to a nonviolent and more equal society for the benefit of our adult service users such as SVAG ́s methods to work on identifying and breaking the cycle of oppression, GEF ́s manual to address the issue of cyber abuse and discrimination, CWP ́s method of identification of micromachist behaviours, Permacultura ́s emotional management tools and Petit Pas ́ experience on working on empowering women and gender and power abuse in the labour market.

The newly gained skills and insights will be further passed on to other adults and adults trainers during internal workshops organised by the course attendees and subsequently used in defining and implementing future European projects.

Adults participating in the Project will broaden their capacities and gain new abilities for their daily work which in turn will create a direct effect on the gender abuse vulnerable collectives they work with advancing the benefits of the educational activities provided by their entities.

Changing the Game

Strategic partnership project “Changing the game: developing a Culture of Peace in organisations” is aiming to build the capacity of the 5 project partner organizations from Latvia, Poland, Netherlands, United Kingdom and Greece and their 15 associate partners, active in non-formal education, in three levels of a Culture of Peace during the 24 months of the project. This will be done through creating an innovative non-formal education methodology (consisting of an interactive game and Manual for Educators) that can be used to develop practical peacebuilding skills inside organisations. It is a so-called “Key action 2” project co-financed by Erasmus+ in the sector of adult education, and will last 24 months. (December 2020- November 2022).

The results we expecting to reach:
A) 10-15 educators/trainers/educational leaders and support staff belonging to partner organizations will take part in two Joint Staff Training events aiming to share best practices and conceptual background and educational methodology related to the Culture of Peace and game design;
B) Another 30 educators/trainers/educational leaders and support staff will take part in the Blended Learning Mobility event (C3), based on our developed CoP game and Manual for Educators. Within the course of the project, they will transfer the knowledge and learning to their organizations & communities, directly reaching up to 30-60 additional people from our target group.
C) An educational CoP game and Manual for Educators will be created in English with essential parts translated in languages of all partner organizations (Latvian, Dutch, Polish and Greek).

The project exists of a kick-off meeting (online), two Staff Mobilities, one training (play testing), several local play tests and multiplier events and an evaluation meeting.

The game got the name Peace Please.

The project will finalise in November 2022.
