We had 23 participants from Spain, Romania, Poland, Germany, USA, Egypt, and South-Sudan. They all returned with a ‘toolbox’ or ‘backpack’ full of insights, new understandings, inspiration, and beautiful memories, to share with the world. One participant said: “I got more than I could carry in my backpack from this training course, but I will try to take some of the things and use them on my way.”
While still further processing all the evaluation forms and reflection-group forms, we analyzed that our goals were met with an average above 4 on a 5 point scale for most items, epecially learning conflict de-escalation and third-party intervention skills, and communication skills. They also mentioned they learned mediation skills, and other skills related to dealing with conflict (.e.g listening, thinking outside of the box, calmness), they learned about nonviolent movements, self-care, respecting cultural and other differences, expressing themselves without fear, elements necessry for a nonviolent culture and self-organizing.
In order to share with you something from our training in a creative way, we made different groups that worked on these outcomes below, during the 6th day of our training course:
A “mini”zine
A Theater Play
And new lyrics to Leonard Cohen’s “Halleluja”
Besides these wonderful projects, one of the participants, Laura Gil Amat, has made a video where every participant answers a question about the training course. It gives a very good impression and it has 3 chapters, published on our youtube channel.
Or go here for the playlist with all chapters.
Moreover, the participants aim to work on the following topics back home:
A Children’s camp to connect refugees & local population, A children’s camp where they learn about the harmful effect of labeling, A Nonviolence training for teachers, workshops about Conflict Resolution at university, addressing racism, and promoting disarmament & international dialogue.

Here you can also see what participants imagined a Nonviolent Society to be like.
